About CalculatorDesk

CalculatorDesk is built and maintained by a small team of Indian developers and finance enthusiasts. We started this project because we were frustrated by the state of financial calculators available online — most were either inaccurate, loaded with ads that made them unusable, or built for US/UK users with no relevance to Indian tax laws, interest rates, and government schemes.

Our goal is simple: give every Indian access to the same quality of financial calculation tools that premium advisory services charge for — completely free, with no sign-up required.

Every formula on CalculatorDesk is verified against the published methodology of the relevant regulatory authority:

• Loan EMI calculations use the standard amortizing-loan formula (PMT function), which is the same formula used by all scheduled banks in India.
• Income tax calculations follow the slab rates and deduction rules published by the Income Tax Department of India for the relevant financial year (currently FY 2025-26).
• SIP, lumpsum, and mutual fund return projections use standard compound interest formulas. These are projections based on your assumed return rate — actual returns are market-linked and not guaranteed.
• PPF, FD, RD, NPS, EPF, SSY, and other government scheme calculators use the interest rates published by the Ministry of Finance / Reserve Bank of India. Rates are updated when the government revises them (typically quarterly).
• GST calculations follow the CGST/SGST/IGST framework as per the GST Council's published slab structure.

We do not provide financial, tax, or investment advice. Our calculators are tools for estimation and comparison — always consult a qualified financial advisor or chartered accountant before making significant financial decisions.

Financial calculators are YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) tools — errors can lead to real financial harm. We take accuracy seriously:

• Every calculator is tested against known results (Excel, bank statements, tax computation sheets) before launch.
• Tax slab rates and government scheme rates are updated within 7 days of any official change.
• Each calculator page shows a "Last updated" date so you can verify it reflects current rates.
• We include a disclaimer on every calculator explaining the limitations of the estimate.
