What is Net Worth?
Net worth is the single number that captures your overall financial position: everything you own minus everything you owe. Tracking net worth over time is the best way to measure whether your finances are improving. A growing net worth means you're building wealth; a declining one signals a need to course-correct.
Formula
The calculation is simple:
Net Worth = Total Assets − Total Liabilities Assets: cash, savings, FDs, mutual funds, stocks, property (market value), gold, PF, NPS… Liabilities: home loan, car loan, personal loan, credit card outstanding, any other debt. Debt-to-asset ratio = liabilities / assets × 100 → below 50% is generally healthy.
How to use this calculator
Add all your assets (cash, savings, investments, property at market value) and all your liabilities (outstanding loan balances, credit-card debt). The calculator totals each, shows your net worth, and computes the debt-to-asset ratio.
