What is Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana?
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) is a government-backed savings scheme for a girl child under 10. Parents deposit yearly for 15 years; the account matures when the girl turns 21. Interest is compounded annually and fully tax-free under Section 80C / EEE.
Formula
Yearly deposits compound annually at the SSY rate. Deposits run for 15 years; the account keeps earning interest until maturity at age 21.
For y = 1..21−age: if y ≤ 15: balance += yearly deposit balance = balance × (1 + r)
How to use this calculator
Enter the yearly amount you plan to deposit (₹250 – ₹1.5 lakh), the girl's current age, and the latest SSY rate. The maturity figure is what the account holds when she turns 21.
